End-of-class final examination
A comprehensive cumulative exam in the format of a graduate cell-biology end-of-term sit-down. Three sections, 120 minutes, single attempt per session. 70% on the MCQ portion to pass.
Section A · Module mastery
37 multiple-choice questions
One or more questions from each of the 18 modules. Tests recall and direct application of the lecture material.
Section B · Integrative MCQs
25 multi-module questions
Each question synthesises material from 2–3 modules. Tests reasoning across the curriculum, including drug mechanism, resistance, and mechanistic prediction.
Section C · Short answer
6 essay-style prompts
Self-assessed against an explicit rubric and a model answer revealed after submission. Not auto-scored — used to test depth, not speed.
Exam conditions
- · Closed-book intent; no time-out during the 120-minute session.
- · Auto-submit when time expires.
- · Section A + B are auto-scored. Section C reveals model answers and rubric on submission.
- · Pass: 70% on the MCQ portion (62 questions).
